HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all mothers. truly motherhood is divine and i am so grateful for my mother and her example she has shown me. i think its great that we set a day aside to honor our mothers.my mother is a woman of great faith, she believes that when you have faith things work out, and they totally do for her. she is hard working, and would do anything so her kids can have a happy life. what would i ever do without my mama! i love her to death!... i am again so grateful. as we honor mothers today and as i think about my mom today i am reminded of the words of one song; "mother loves unselfishly, helps others in their need, she loves the teachings of the Lord and Teaches them to me, of all the things that she could choose she chose the will of God to love and lead back to him as hand in hand we walk. my mother prepares and fills woman's roles. accepts the Lord will with all of her soul, she's talking the time to love and to lead and she's taking time to bring us to thee....."
these words definitely describe my amazing mother! God be thanked for such a wonderful woman in my life.

HappyBrithday ALbert

so today is my brother Albert's birthday! just thought i would dedicate this space for him.. he is amazing.. his day today and writing this blog has got me thinking of when we were kids and how he would always make me laugh.. when i wanted to cry or something..i remember having to give a talk in sacrament meeting when i was really little and i was nervous.. he drew a picture of captain planet(we loved that cartoon) with the words beside saying " the power is yours" he explained that i had power and i could do it! i dont know if that helped, maybe it did.. haha i dont remember, but looking back on that incident.. i think that was so sweet!.. anyways so this is just saying happy birthday big brother..

from gladiator motivational clip.. i typed this up as a lisnted to this amazing clip. i want to share it with everyone..

Success, acknowledgment, fame, glory, many of us fight for reasons like these, but you don't build a good name from one day to the next.It is necessary to work hard even if there are stumbles and falls , it is necessary to overcome obstacles, it is necessary to have motivation,to persevere and insist.life is succession of battles. Job,family, friends all of us have a current status and most expectations for the future however the twists and turns of fate take us by surprise.
One cannot always do what one likes but those that like what they do and are proud of always doing better make more progress day by day. There are moments of quiet and hectic moments where mere good intentions are not enough. That when life demands of us courage, boldness, creativity and an unquenchable fighting spirit.
The truth is that problems and setbacks happen more frequently than we would like. Times change new challenges arise, and new objectives, the warriors look into the eyes of the future without fear or arrogance but with the confidence of those who are ready for battle. How we approach the difficulties is what makes the
difference. Sometimes we ask, how can we cope with radical changes that we are faced with?. Its like acting a new scenario where things we used to do so well now need to be relearned . "And how can we fight without letting go off fundamental values?" and more how do we know exactly what needs to be done at the right time. The amazing thing is that it is precisely upon facing adverse situation that many rediscover the best in themselves. Ethics, friendship, the capability to create new strategies based on experience, the talent to promote positive alliances, the spirit of leadership, the awareness of the strength that resides in true team work. All these come to the fore when required by circumstances. Naturally its not easy to give up habits, customs. its not easy to adapt to new environments or employ resources we are not familiar with. But all warriors know that pessimism and uncertainty hold one back at moments like this. even if the threat comes from many sides with strength and determination we can achieve our goal.A combination of energy and intelligence as well as a balance between emotion and reason are essential to success. It is the most satisfying feeling to reach the end of a task with a feeling of duty fulfilled and receive the respect of all our colleagues, the admiration of the people we love, to hear our names spoken with pride, the pride of having seen the obstacles the opportunity of growth, the prize of being able to face life's ups and downs and win, the pride of being a winner who did not give up fundamental values

A note on the tsunami! A warning to move to higher ground!

A note on the tsunami! A warning to move to higher ground!
Last Saturday, at 4.am I was awoken by a call. My friend was calling to inform me about an impending natural disaster; a tsunami which was expected to hit the shores of Oahu at 11 am that morning. I didn’t know if it was true! I checked online and low and behold, it was true. The sirens were set to sound at 6.00 am in the morning. The few minutes that followed were filled with phone calls to family members while packing up some few belongings and food and few important items in order to be prepared to evacuate into the mountains. We stayed in the mountains for 7 hours waiting for this “doom”. It never came. Actually, what happened was that the waves were not high enough to cause it to flow into hour homes and community. It’s been 4 days after that memorable event. Looking back and thinking of it, there was a lot to learn from this whole event.
First there was a warning, and more than one I dare say!- we moved to the mountain as quickly as we could . We were prepared, though we could have done a little better. A much more better way was to have an already prepared 72 hour kit and the moment the warning came, fled in seconds to the mountains for safety. We had to pack a few belongings here and there, add a few can foods, fill up some bottles with water so we won’t die of thirst while “watching and waiting”. But needless to say, we got out of the house early. But not so many people did. I recall seeing people now climbing up to the mountains as late as 10.30 am. 30 minutes before the tsunami was to hit. What if had decided to come early than that? What if it came at 6.00 am?- I guess what I am saying is that we need to be prepared. This applies not only to natural disasters but to our lives, to the gospel. We need to be prepared by cultivating habits, having faith, studying the scriptures, so when temptations arise we will be better prepared to stand them and not lose hope. Again we can be called any time out of this life. Are we prepared? Will we have our 72 hour kit so we can show to our Maker, and hear Him say “well than thou Good and faithful servant”
Second where do we flee to when there is a tsunami? A lecture on tsunami. From the little knowledge I have on tsunamis, (I owe this to my dad he taught us so many things about the solar system and the stars and tsunamis we’ll save that for another day). Anyways tsunamis are giant waves, as a result of earthquakes in the sea triggered by earthquakes nearby. These giants’ waves rush to the land and destroy anything in their way. Now when there is a warning for a tsunami, you move to higher ground. Don’t wait you just evacuate to higher ground. That’s where we are safe. That’s where we can see afar off of any impeding danger. When we are on higher ground, that means we are playing safe, we are obeying the rules, we are living the gospel, principles and standing in holy places. When we do those things we always have the spirit with us, and when we think we think with think with an eternal perspective and we see with the bigger picture in mind and so we too can see “afar off”.
